How Do I Become A Member?

It’s as easy as just showing up! There is no membership review process, we accept you wherever you are on your writing journey. We recommend that you come to a meeting and decide if you would like to join the Guild. Members have access to monthly meetings, a newsletter, as well as Inner Circles and Guild events.

When does the Writers’ Guild meet?

We run hybrid meetings from September to May. Meetings take place on the last Thursday of the month at College Boreal and on Zoom. Members can also join Inner Circles, additional monthly meetings dedicated to specific writing genres. Currently the Guild has a Poetry Inner Circle, a Stage and Screen Inner Circle, and a Write, Right!, which gathers weekly simply to write. New Inner Circles and ideas are welcome.

How much does a membership cost?

General membership is $40.00 a year or $30.00 for students with a valid student ID.

What can I expect during a meeting?

Meetings are dedicated to writing, as well exploring writing accomplishments and difficulties. Each month has a focus related to the craft of writing. These include industry speakers, critique night, and book club.No matter what we do, we promise it will be engaging and helpful.
